The Grass Was Dead on the Other Side WARNING: Do NOT read this post if you plan on being proud and rejecting what you read! Hell will be hotter for you. DO CONTINUE to read if you have a soft and humble heart. This post contains a VERY IMPORTANT MESSAGE.  Amen.  Isaiah 40:6-8, " The voice said, Cry. And he said, What shall I cry? All flesh is grass, and all the goodliness thereof is as the flower of the field: The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: because the spirit of the Lord bloweth upon it: surely the people is grass. The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever." I always wanted to be a princess. All of my young girl dreams were filled with royal princes, fighting knights, dancing ballerinas, handsome kings, and beautiful queens. A dreamer by nature, with a wild imagination (runs in the family), I spent my youth dressing up, dancing, and playing “princess” games with my sisters. Castles were incredible to me ...

Breaking in Ballet Pointe Shoes/ Dance Life

Hello, y’all! Let’s talk about breaking in your ballet pointe shoes today. Here’s a pic of my old pointe shoes (well broken in and fun to dance in but they offer little support! Ha ha):

So, here’s my new ones (stiff as a board and hard to dance in):
How to you break them in? Some dancers try everything from slamming then in a door to beating them on the ground!

I like to step on the box with my bare foot, then I use the back of a stout/thick chair to “pop” them right where my arch will be. I then walk around in them and do my exercises and stretches in them to soften them up. One of the best things to do is about 50 releves in first and then switch to fifth. You will have dead calves the next day (ha ha ) but softer pointe shoes! :) Sous-sus are great shoe breakers and also the leg killing Echappes.

But, nothing beats just plain dancing in them. :)

It’s fun having a house full of ballet dancers. :) At any given time there’s someone practicing grand Jetes in the living room or triple pirouettes in the kitchen. (Of course I always land that triple pirouette in the kitchen in socks when no one is around! Lol)

You’ll find Bobby pins EVERYWHERE and little sparkles left over from crinolines. When in stores we really enjoy practicing jumps in empty aisles (ha ha), and then get all embarrassed when someone actually sees us. ;)

You’ll find “ballet pink” decorated everywhere, and old ballet shoes galore (because we can’t seem to throw any away…).

And someone is always dancing if the hymn station is playing or a waltz comes on. :) Praise  Jesus for the opportunity to dance!!!

This is a little taste of dance life… Hope y’all enjoyed! :)
