NEWSFLASH: The Roman Catholic Church is a CULT – A FALSE RELIGIOUS SYSTEM. Why? Among many reasons, they teach sacramental salvation (salvation by works) which is damnable heresy. Praying to Mary, to angels, to dead saints (All Saints Day and All Souls Day?), to objects, etc. is IDOLATRY and all idolaters will have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone per Revelation 21:8, etc. 

If you love the truth, please read on, but otherwise, don’t….

THE LORD JESUS CHRIST IS THE OBJECT OF OUR FAITH. This is fundamental, foundational FIRST PRINCIPLE MILK per Hebrews 5 and 6 (“faith toward God.”). Yet, when you ask folks about their FAITH, they often say, “I am REFORMED” or “I am Protestant” etc. That means the Roman Catholic Church is the DEFINING POINT of your faith!!! (Muse moment; Selah)…..

If you call yourself a PROTESTANT OR REFORMED, your faith is DEFINED then by what you are trying to REFORM or PROTEST. If I came out of Jehovah’s Witnesses (for example) and somebody said, “What is your faith?” and I answer with “I’m ANTI-JEHOVAH’S WITNESS” you’d think that to be strange, nay? Some folks say are they Wesleyan Arminian (are these two men the object of your faith⁉️) or some say Calvinist or Baptist (meaning “one who baptizes.”). Your faith isn’t what you are against, what you do, or some mortal man out yonder, but it SHOULD BE AIMED AT CHRIST. This is why Acts 11:26 says the disciples were  called CHRISTIANS first at Antioch. OUR FAITH IS CHRIST. The Holy Ghost drives this home here: 1 Peter 4:16 “Yet if any man suffer as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God on this behalf.” (see also Acts 26:28). 

But look very carefully at the REFORMED image. See the letters in RED? I’ve used this over the years to illustrate a simple point: THERE IS MUCH “ROME” IN “REFORMED.” What are you TRYING TO REFORM? A CULT? You don’t REFORM A CULT, YOU ** COME OUT **! You MAN THE LIFEBOATS AND ABANDON SHIP. There is no salvaging a sinking ship. GET OUT. See that gaping hole in the hull? GET OUT. They say a “Reformed Alcoholic” is still an ALCOHOLIC. Well, a REFORMED CATHOLIC is still a CATHOLIC. 

So, on October 31st, Luther decided to REFORM THE CATHOLIC CULT. I won’t belittle the good that sprang out of that, but do you ever wonder why REFORMED people are still so steeped (or should I say steepled?) in ROME? They blindly keep so many Roman Catholic traditions and pride themselves of being ANTI-ROME. The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree, and in this case, it rolled uphill, and back eventually to the tree. 

Exodus records God getting His people out of Egypt, and Leviticus is God getting Egypt out of His people. Many Protestants left Catholicism, but they still need Rome OUT OF THEM. This is why Luther in one of the 95 Theses said that the HOLY SPIRIT IN THE POPE SURE HAS BEEN GOOD TO THEM (and many such like statements). Luther was an anti-Semite (read his treatise called “On the Jews and Their Lies” which he wrote JUST 3 YEARS BEFORE HE DIED. Luther’s last sermon contained anti-Jewish sentiments. His CONSUBSTANTIATION was a Catholic-compromise. His state church was Augustinian/Catholic in nature, etc. 

Let’s OUTGROW this man-centered faith and cult-defined faith, AND HAVE THE LORD JESUS CHRIST AS THE OBJECT OF OUR FAITH.
