The Power of Questions! (Dad’s exhortation)

Let God question you. And answer His questions.

Mark 11:30 The baptism of John, was it from heaven, or of men? Answer me.

Jesus commanded these hypocrites to answer Him, but He knew THEY WOULD NOT. One type of logical presentation that Jesus oft employed was the Rhetorical Question. HE ASKED QUESTIONS THAT WERE ACTUALLY STATEMENTS. This is POWERFUL. Jesus is the LORD OF THE LOGICIANS. He is the LOGOS (from whence all logic comes). 

Jesus is about to stump the Master Exegetes. He is about to trump and triumph over the chief priests, the scribes, the elders, etc. The Top Dogs of the Synagogues cannot stand before GOD manifested in the flesh. Love, love this JESUS!

So, last year I was about to type how that a QUESTION MARK resembles a shepherd’s hook/staff, and lo and behold, my 8 year old walked up and wanted to give me a Psalms 23 (the Lord is my Shepherd) key ring! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this DAILY JESUS WALK!!!! <3 

The “Way of the Master” is to ask questions. He takes that hook and draws out. The religious crowd REFUSED TO ANSWER JESUS’ QUESTIONS. Personally, I have observed this for 30 years now. 

It goes like this. In any Bible discussion/debate/earnest contending, simply lay out questions and see if they are “game” to answer.

What you will find is that if you have the Spirit of Truth, you are NOT AFRAID TO ANSWER QUESTIONS. If you have the spirit of error, YOU WILL HIDE. We call this THE AVOID DANCE SPIRIT OF AVOIDANCE. When somebody has something to hide, they hide.

 

EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. PERIOD. And in every single time - well, you know the drill. 

One preacher man (ahem) once told me that he refused to answer my questions because I had worded each question in a way that it was impossible for him to answer without PROVING MY LOGIC. Hint, hint. Neon Clue. Cosmic Duh. Holy Ghost Handwriting on the wall. Poke Poke under the fifth rib. Ummmm…. THAT WOULD MEAN I HAVE THE TRUTH. I counter-challenged him to ask me the same amount of questions IMPOSSIBLE FOR ME TO ANSWER WITHOUT PROVING HIS LOGIC. He wasn’t so zealous but avoided and fled. Ahhhh. Christianity is right much fun.

We can lead a Christian to the water of the word, but we cannot make them drink. And we can't do the believing/thinking for them. 

Another Christian debater said he couldn’t answer my questions because the demonic wisdom (hee hee) in me was too difficult to answer. I asked him how the Holy Ghost (ahem) in him could not defeat the alleged devil (ahem) in me. Crickets. ZILCH, ZIP, NADA. You could have heard an electron drop on a church mouse in a snake-handling church/cult in the Ozarks...

Questions are EXTREMELY IMPORTANT. Pay attention to those question marks in the Bible. 

God, in infinite wisdom, has the local church set up to where an unrepentant member must eventually face the church (Matthew 18, etc.). That happens in your church, right? (Ahem). Most do the ol’ “I’ll quit my job before I’m fired at my final review” routine because they simply are too cowardly to face questions they KNOW cannot be answered without looking fifty shades of foolish. Most will GHOST your questions and avoid. Why? 

Usually it goes like this: They have a long laundry list of sins – and rather than repent fully in humility and just simply live right, they get angry at the church BECAUSE THE CHURCH KNOWS ABOUT THEIR SINS!! Instead of loving a church that won’t suffer sin upon them, they DESPISE THE CHURCH. They rush off and join anybody and everybody else in unrepentant sin. All the HIDING HYPOCRITES join with other HIDING HYPOCRITES and the chemistry begins:

Proverbs 17:4 A wicked doer giveth heed to false lips; and a liar giveth ear to a naughty tongue.

You catch wind of some lies and distortions and deception hither and yon. I reckon you COULD try and untie all those knots and go about trying to help each side realize they are deceived and being deceived, but why bother? ;^)

They actually WANT to believe the lies. Falsehoods Fester and Fan out like the Flu in a French Factory in the Forties. They cross their fingers and hope to the LORD Satan (LORD OF THE FLIES) the lies are true. Anything to get them OFF THE HOOK - off the QUESTION MARK HOOK. They won’t come back to YOU to get the level-headed, rational, documented truth about what YOU allegedly did/said in full context. Thusly, they DESERVE to wallow in lies. Let them alone. God will fix their wagons both now and the final fix later (lest they REPENT as we pray daily for them): 

Proverbs 11:31 Behold, the righteous shall be recompensed in the earth: much more the wicked and the sinner.

Proverbs 13:15 Good understanding giveth favour: but the way of transgressors is hard.

Focus passage. Jesus asks questions. They are not for His education (He knows literally EVERYTHING with infinite knowledge). We are dumb as dirt, so we ask questions FOR OUR EDUCATION. But, we MUST ASK QUESTIONS. 

A verse that revolutionized my early baby Christian walk is 1 Thess. 5:21 which commands: “PROVE ALL THINGS; HOLD FAST THAT WHICH IS GOOD.” 

Question EVERYTHING. Then, back it up book, chapter, verse, reference, inference, etc. by THE HOLY SCRIPTURES. And if you speak English, get the only logical internally consistent copy of scriptures in the KING JAMES BIBLE. Why? Because the FIRST QUESTION in your Bible (Gen.3) is SATAN questioning the WORD OF GOD and twisting God’s words… 

The second question is Gen. 3:9 with God asking Adam, “Where art thou?” Adam was HIDING BECAUSE OF SIN. He tried to sew his own FIG TREE RELIGION aprons to cover his nakedness because the GLORY OF THE LORD was departed (Ichabod). Folks haven’t moved an inch in millennia. They first let Satan question the truth, then they flee and hide from questions. Every. Single. Well, you know....

Will you PROVE ALL THINGS by the word of God today? Or will you do an Avoid Dance Avoidance? –r <3
