Numbers 11:5 (KJB) We remember the fish, which we did eat in Egypt freely; the cucumbers, and the melons, and the leeks, and the onions, and the garlick:
Numbers 11:6 (KJB) But now our soul is dried away: there is nothing at all, beside this manna, before our eyes.
The Israelites were MURMURING regarding the MANNA. They were looking BACK TO EGYPT saying they could “eat in Egypt FREELY.” LIE.
Okay, so Egypt is emblematic of the world in Bible typology. It represented cruel bondage under Pharaoh (figure of Satan in type). Manna typifies Master Christ and the word of God (selfsame Spirit). Every recipe involved MANNA.
Folks "feel" they are “FREE” when they can freely sin. This is DELUSION/DECEPTION ON STEROIDS raised to the 666th power!
To the Christian, Christ is involved in EVERYTHING. Everything literally centers around Christ and His word. Whether you are working, it is unto the Lord (Col. 3:23); your recreation is Christ-centered (1 Cor. 10:31)– MANNA, MANNA, MANNA…. Our life is hid in Christ. Christ, WHO IS OUR LIFE...
Manna was white; it was round; it tasted like honey and fresh oil… It descended like dew, etc. Jesus said in John 6 that HE IS THAT MANNA and He taught us to pray (Matt.6:11) for the DAILY BREAD.
Fresh daily manna is better than anything in the world (Egypt).
Remember Lot’s wife. Put your hand to the plow, and don’t look back. Philippians 3 says we are to FORGET THOSE THINGS WHICH ARE BEHIND, and press forward toward the prize of the high calling which is in Christ Jesus. EYES ON THE PRIZE, CHURCH.
God gave NO ARMOUR FOR THE BACK because we are to MOVE FORWARD.
You were NOT FREE IN EGYPT. This is Satan’s lie. There is immense and intense FREEDOM IN CHRIST.
John 8:31-32 says if we continue in His word, we are His disciples indeed, and we shall know the truth and the truth shall MAKE US FREE.
Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is LIBERTY (2 Cor. 3). The Holy Ghost is called a "free Spirit" in Psalms 51.
Galatians 5:1 Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.
Few verses make me cringe like this one:
Numbers 21:5 And the people spake against God, and against Moses, Wherefore have ye brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? for there is no bread, neither is there any water; and our soul loatheth this light bread.
Their soul LOATHED the LIGHT BREAD. The manna is LIGHT BREAD. And it is SHEW BREAD. It will shew you things. It is our LIGHT. LOVE IT and never LOOK BACK.
DON’T LOOK BACK. Most are looking back today. Be the EXCEPTION to this GENERATION and ENJOY THE MANNA, -r <3
