In FASHION?

07/31 Daily (Heb.3:13;10:25;Matt.6:11;Luke 11:3) Exhortation.

On 7/31, here is a 7:31 verse CONSTRUCTION for Instruction (2 Tim. 3:16)…

1 Corinthians 7:31 (KJB)  And they that use this world, as not abusing it: for the fashion of this world passeth away.

Pretty straight forward passage. We can use this world but not abuse it. We must remember that the “fashion of this world passeth away.” No doubt God providentially built in a warning about concerning ourselves with what is “in fashion” or “fashionable.” 

Jesus’ statement of Luke 16:15 comes to mind from yesterday’s charge: 

Luke 16:15 Ye are they which justify yourselves before men; but God knoweth your hearts: for that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God.

What this world highly esteems is detestable to God. 

This is why Romans 12 states that we are not to be conformed to the world, but transformed by the renewing of our mind, and proving what is God’s good, and acceptable, and perfect will. Jesus can get the 30fold (good), 60fold (acceptable), or 100fold (perfect) return due His name.  Which, if any, will YOU give Jesus? 

Here is a sobering passage and it is up against the end times: 

1 John 2: 15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.

17 And the WORLD PASSETH AWAY, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.

18 Little children, it is the LAST TIME: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time.

19 They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us.

People are falling away like flies. Paul said in 2 Timothy 4:10, “For Demas hath forsaken me, having loved this present world, and is departed unto Thessalonica…” Time and time again. 

Demas means “popular.” The desire to be “popular” will get you to forsake the right way and depart. Every. Single. Time. Period. And in every single time period. 

Again, today, the 7:31 construction is exactly 11 times in the Bible, which can point to Babel (Gen. 11), and Antichrist/Judas Iscariot, etc. The following phrases are in the Bible exactly eleven times: “FACE TO FACE,” “latter end,” “latter days,” and “one body.” 

God is calling his saints worldwide (His one body) to a “face to face” meeting in our latter end in the latter days. Can you FEEL IT? Doctrinally, prophetically, spiritually, we sense the closeness of God’s reckoning with this earth. If there are years left, I will be shocked, Brethren. Now is NOT THE TIME to partake of the perishing “fashion of this world.” Use what God has given us richly to enjoy, but don’t abuse it. 

With many children, and I was in the delivery room for each episode, I observed something of great profundity. WHEN BABIES ARE BORN, THEIR FISTS ARE CLENCHED. It is emblematic of something. When one is born, they are grabbing everything they can in this life. But ever watched somebody die? A neighbor’s nurse once called me over to stand with her at the bedside of her dying husband. When a person dies, they open back up their hand, and let IT ALL GO. Let it go now. Don’t let possessions possess you. What matters most is not made of matter. 

Hold on to Jesus, hold close to those you love with all of your might, pray for your babies daily, your loved ones, your true friends/family, fight the good fight, etc. Time is short. Don’t trade the treasures of heaven for the FLEETING FASHIONS of FICKLE and FAKE FRATERNITY of PHARISEES and pseudo-Fellowship. Are you, by God’s grace and Spirit, pushing through all that is perishing which brings God’s punishing?
