The Name of Jesus is ANOINTED. Use it wisely. 

08/12 Daily (Heb.3:13;10:25;Matt.6:11;Luke 11:3) Exhortation.

 

For this 8/12, here is an 8:12 “Construction for Instruction”(2 Tim. 3:16)…

Leviticus 8:12 (KJB) And he poured of the anointing oil upon Aaron's head, and anointed him, to sanctify him.

We need the Holy Ghost to be sanctified (set apart). The Holy Ghost is called the “anointing” in 1st John 2. There is a reason why the Lord’s Spirit is called the HOLY Ghost and the HOLY Spirit. God’s SPIRIT is HOLY and God’s SPIRIT will make YOU Holy. We are commanded (Eph. 5:18) to be Spirit-filled. 

Many seem to think today that saved, born again children/teens get the Holy Spirit Junior or something. No. They get the same Holy Spirit as adults.  Satan conjured up segregated church services where the youth head off to play and color, etc. They grossly underestimate children. Children are God’s amazing creations and are sponges. A dirty filter may not hold much water, but it is very clean after water passed through it. God calls His word “water” and a source of being “clean” many times over. 

But our focus passage indicates the anointing oil UPON Aaron’s head. Early in our marriage, my wife would serve mashed potatoes. I would ask if there is butter upon it. She would reply, “There’s butter in it.” I would say, “Darling. It’s like the Holy Ghost. I don’t just want Him IN ME, but ON ME.” Hence, this illustration has been used for many moons in our household. 

Skeptics like to scrutinize alleged discrepancies in the scriptures. The error is ALWAYS between their ears and not between the covers of a King James. They attack Mary of Bethany’s anointing of Jesus. One account says it was on Jesus’ head, one account says on His garments, one account says His feet. This is not an error. These are different vantage points. She poured it upon His head, it ran down to the skirts of His garments, and upon His feet….

Watch Psalms 133, which typifies Christ…

133:1 Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!

2 It is like the precious ointment upon the head, that ran down upon the beard, even Aaron's beard: that went down to the skirts of his garments;

3 As the dew of Hermon, and as the dew that descended upon the mountains of Zion: for there the LORD commanded the blessing, even life for evermore.

Aaron means “High Mountain.” God, our Father, has high expectations of us. Will you allow and trust and beseech God to anoint you today – to sanctify you today? Zech. 4:6 says man’s might will not do, but that we NEED THE SPIRIT OF THE LORD OF HOSTS.

⚠️‼️DAILY JESUS WALK ALERT‼️⚠️ My random flip yesterday was Isaiah 61:1 where the Spirit of the Lord God was upon and anointing Christ. Grace's random was Luke 4:18 with Jesus quoting Isaiah 61:1. ☝️ Glory North ‼️ 

In our focus passage, the "virgins" that love Christ represents all the local churches collectively. Each is a "virgin" espoused to Christ (2 Cor. 11; Eph. 5, etc.) and combined over 2000 years, one Bride of Christ. In like fashion, the 5 wise virgins of Matthew 25 points to the church.  

THERE IS POWER IN THE NAME OF JESUS. 

Today, trust to walk and function in God’s UNCTION, ANOINTING, IN THE FULNESS OF CHRIST, IN HIS PRESENCE. May our bodies be broken vessels and the alabaster box precious ointment of the Spirit be an aroma to fill our atmosphere. 

May Jesus’s Name be as OINTMENT POURED FORTH (Song of Solomon 1:3), -r <3
