The Grass Was Dead on the Other Side WARNING: Do NOT read this post if you plan on being proud and rejecting what you read! Hell will be hotter for you. DO CONTINUE to read if you have a soft and humble heart. This post contains a VERY IMPORTANT MESSAGE.  Amen.  Isaiah 40:6-8, " The voice said, Cry. And he said, What shall I cry? All flesh is grass, and all the goodliness thereof is as the flower of the field: The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: because the spirit of the Lord bloweth upon it: surely the people is grass. The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever." I always wanted to be a princess. All of my young girl dreams were filled with royal princes, fighting knights, dancing ballerinas, handsome kings, and beautiful queens. A dreamer by nature, with a wild imagination (runs in the family), I spent my youth dressing up, dancing, and playing “princess” games with my sisters. Castles were incredible to me ...

Atheist/Atheism/ Agonistic Bible Smackdown: Where did Cain get his wife?

Dear Dad’s (Randall Hartinger) BIBLE BREAKDOWN today. ENJOY.

Where did Cain get his wife?

12/19 Daily Exhortation (Heb.3:13;10:25;Matt.6:11;Luke 11:3,etc.)

Let’s MINE and GLEAN from this 12:19 on this 12/19…

Genesis 12:19 (KJB) Why saidst thou, She is my sister? so I might have taken her to me to wife: now therefore behold thy wife, take her, and go thy way.

Sure. Abraham (great father of faith making the Hebrews 11 hall of faith) had a lapse of faith. First off, God NEVER told Abraham to go to Egypt. Now, technically, Abraham was not lying because Sara was indeed his half-sister.  And this was lawful pre-Mosaic law. This brings us into an important teaching and answer to the agnostics/atheists/skeptics out yonder.

Where did CAIN GET HIS WIFE?

Genesis 4:16 And Cain went out from the presence of the LORD, and dwelt in the land of Nod, on the east of Eden.

17 And Cain knew his wife; and she conceived, and bare Enoch: and he builded a city, and called the name of the city, after the name of his son, Enoch.

Several assumptions are oft made. First, most say that Cain found a wife in Nod. It does not say that. Cain could have had a wife before moving to Nod.

There are about 5 generations from which Cain can pick a wife…

There was a “process of time” before Cain killed Abel. That could have been generations.

Genesis 4:3 And in process of time it came to pass, that Cain brought of the fruit of the ground an offering unto the LORD.

See, God told Eve he would GREATLY MULTIPLY her conception (Gen. 3:16) and GOD DID. Eve is called the “mother of all living” and SHE IS (Gen.3:20).

Genesis 5:4 And the days of Adam after he had begotten Seth were eight hundred years: and he begat sons and daughters...

See, Adam lived 930 years total. So, Adam was 130 years old when Seth was born (replacing Abel). This allows PLENTY OF TIME for Adam and Eve to have had many, many, many children. And those children had many children.

Cain married at least a sister or cousin/niece. The genetic pool was not corrupted, so incest was not forbidden until 2000 years later in the Mosaic law. If you think about it, Adam and Eve were brother and sister (from the same Father - God).

Abraham was half-brother to Sarah, etc. Listen to what Abraham said in Gen. 20:12…

“And yet indeed she is my sister; she is the daughter of my father, but not the daughter of my mother; and she became my wife.”

God told Adam and Eve to multiply and replenish the earth, and THEY DID.

Cain's wife is thusly not a Biblical dilemma at all.

I like to call my Missing Rib wife “Sister Babydoll.” Why “Sister”? Well, she is my Sister in the Lord and my spouse. Watch the Bible birdie/precedence:

Song of Solomon 4:9 Thou hast ravished my heart, my sister, my spouse; thou hast ravished my heart with one of thine eyes, with one chain of thy neck.  (Jesus calls His church His SISTER and SPOUSE 3 other times in S.O.S.).

Paul expressed his apostolic right (though relinquished) to get married with:

1 Corinthians 9:5 Have we not power to lead about a sister, a wife, as well as other apostles, and as the brethren of the Lord, and Cephas?

Note that Sister and Wife are used together. Today, post Mosaic Law, incest is forbidden and genetically dangerous and morally wrong. But in Cain’s day, it was acceptable, though it was still likely that his wife was a distant niece rather than direct sister.

Even snug up against the Mosaic law (still before Leviticus) comes some noteworthy relations:

Exodus 6:20 And Amram took him Jochebed his father's sister to wife; and she bare him Aaron and Moses: and the years of the life of Amram were an hundred and thirty and seven years.

Looks to me that Moses’ father was married to Moses’ grandfather’s sister. In short, Moses’ father married an aunt. But later, God forbids approaching a near of kin:

Leviticus 18:12 Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy father's sister: she is thy father's near kinswoman. [see Lev. 18:6, 13, 17, etc.]…

We are all from Adam and Eve and all from one of or a combo of Noah’s three sons. We are all the human “race” in that sense.

I exhort you, today, to STAND IN AWE OF GOD’S WORD, And confess it’s truth from the beginning to the end, and don’t let the Bible agnostics trip you up. You have all things that pertain to life and godliness in God’s exceeding great and precious promises! –r <3
