01/01 Daily Exhortation (Matt.6:11;Luke 11:3;Hebrews 3:13;10:25)…

2023!!! MAN PLANS, BUT GOD LAUGHS (See Psalms 2 and Proverbs 1). Since 2010, our small circle/church thought that 2020 would be a big year on the prophetic time clock (long story and calculations), and well – we were not too far off on that by God’s good grace/glory (all credit to Christ). Never has there been a year quite like it. Only God knows what is in store and what little whisperings He’ll give His children (Deut. 29:29; Numbers 11:29; Amos 3:7, etc.)… LOOKING UP ALWAYS!!!!

For this FIRST day of the year, will you THIRST for more of God, His Word, and Way? Yea or Nay? 

For this 1/1, having BEGUN this year with the SON, focus upon this 1:1…

Psalm 1:1 Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.

Note the progression here from the contrast. The “NOT BLESSED” man is WALKING where he ought not, then STANDING where he ought not, and then SITTING where he ought not. 

How many do you know in the prophesied “falling away” (2 Thess.2:3) who started walking in bad counsel (versus the counsel of the Lord which is His word and versus the counsel of the pillar/ground of the truth which is His body/church)? How many have REJECTED THE INITIAL CALL OF GOD ON THEIR LIVES? They stop WALKING and start STANDING (going nowhere). Sinners will STOP YOU when you step into that “way.” And now watch the posture. THEY ARE SITTING. Where? In the same seat as the “scornful.” Scorners are a dime a dozen in this “lol” non-sober, artificially-anointed, “folly is joy” generation. Once a person can mock the right ways of the Lord, they have stopped walking and moved beyond standing, and are now SITTING. 

Gradualism.  Incrementalism. This is how Satan works. He breaks up his overthrow into MANAGEABLE CHUNKS and slow increments. 

Genesis 3:1 speaks of the serpent (Satan; see Isaiah 27:1, Rev. 12, etc.) being more SUBTLE than any other beast of the field. SATAN IS SUBTLE. 

2 Corinthians 11:3 But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.

The Depths of Satan (Rev.2; Jezebel) is a choice weapon of the Enemy to use a “continual dropping” and wear down little by little. Ask Samson how he revealed secrets because he was pressed over and over. In Acts 16, a devil-possessed damsel tries this very thing, but Paul discerns it and casts it out. AND SHE WAS SPEAKING THE TRUTH but by another spirit intent on DISTRACTING PRAYER TIME.

 

How about YOU this New Year? Will you lie down with the dogs and get up with fleas? 

Will you get counsel from the ungodly (folks not like God), join sinners in their way, sit in the scorner’s seat? 

Proverbs 13:20 He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed.

1 Corinthians 15:33 Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.

1 Peter 4:7 But the end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore sober, and watch unto prayer.

Establish a PRECEDENCE FOR THE NEW YEAR by walking in GODLY COUNSEL, THE COUNSEL OF THE LORD, IN THE WAY OF THE RIGHTEOUS AND SOBER, -r <3
