The Grass Was Dead on the Other Side WARNING: Do NOT read this post if you plan on being proud and rejecting what you read! Hell will be hotter for you. DO CONTINUE to read if you have a soft and humble heart. This post contains a VERY IMPORTANT MESSAGE.  Amen.  Isaiah 40:6-8, " The voice said, Cry. And he said, What shall I cry? All flesh is grass, and all the goodliness thereof is as the flower of the field: The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: because the spirit of the Lord bloweth upon it: surely the people is grass. The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever." I always wanted to be a princess. All of my young girl dreams were filled with royal princes, fighting knights, dancing ballerinas, handsome kings, and beautiful queens. A dreamer by nature, with a wild imagination (runs in the family), I spent my youth dressing up, dancing, and playing “princess” games with my sisters. Castles were incredible to me ...

Joshua Son of Nun

๐Ÿฉต๐Ÿฉต๐ŸฉตI love my Bible-devouring Dear Dad, who calls himself "Bible Nerd." He eats, sleeps, and drinks the Bible and strives to obey it. I love being washed in the water of the word daily. Dear Dad’s (Randall Hartinger) teaching today and may it BLESS!

What can we learn from Joshua, a TYPE/Symbol OF CHRIST?

06/27 Daily Exhortation (Heb.3:13;10:25;Matt.6:11;Luke 11:3)…

A 6:27 for 6/27…

Joshua 6:27 (KJB) So the LORD was with Joshua; and his fame was noised throughout all the country.

Joshua is a very powerful symbol of Christ in the Bible. Joshua is a CHRIST CIPHER. Joshua connotes Christ. Very packed. We'll unpack a few things is all:

God in His Sovereign Wisdom orchestrated the King James Bible to keep “Jesus” for Joshua in Acts 7 and Hebrews 4. You see, Joshua means “Jah is Salvation” or “The Lord is Salvation.” This is EXACTLY what “Jesus” means. Here are the two places where the NT is speaking of Joshua but uses (and wisely so) “Jesus”:

Acts 7:45 Which also our fathers that came after brought in with Jesus into the possession of the Gentiles, whom God drave out before the face of our fathers, unto the days of David...

Hebrews 4:8 For if Jesus had given them rest, then would he not afterward have spoken of another day.

[By the way, 4:8 for 48 pointing to Israel in numerics if thou canst see...]

In both of those passages, “Joshua” is in mind, but the translation of “Iesous” in Greek is JESUS. Thusly, the KJB is correct. The KJB translators feared changing it to Uzza help out God (2 Sam. 6:6 and please note that 66!). What this does is ESTABLISHES a glorious fact that one of the strongest types/symbols of Jesus in the Bible is Joshua!!!!! It is an “easy to latch onto” connection in the King James. New perversions obscure this and an enemy hath done this covering tracts like a serpent on a rock (no tracks), ship in the sea (no tracks), eagle in the air (no tracks), and a fornicator man with a maid (no tracks; see Prov. 30)...

By the way, “Jesus” and “Joshua” combined are 1189 total occurrences in the Bible. God makes NO MISTAKES. There are no less than 1189 CHAPTERS in the Bible. Chapter (like chapiter) comes from the Latin “kaput” akin to cap or CAPS meaning HEAD, the capitol. The Head of a column is a CHAPTER. Your chapter heads begin with ALL CAPS unless your publisher did you wrong; it happens and irks this Bible nerd to no end ;^). The head of the columns in the temple were CHAPITERS. “JESUS” is all caps in the text 6 times and Joshua is the 6th book of the Bible. One subtle exception to that is that the 1769 Benjamin Blayney edition of the 1611 (which we all mostly use) has JESUS all caps for John chapter 8 beginning. That would make 7 total corresponding with “Jehovah” 7 times and “Holy Spirit” 7 times. Jesus is JUST THAT BIG. Stop your doubting. Ha. Let me forbear. On and on we can go on that and bore you to tears, but Jesus is the HEAD of the church, and Joshua was the HEAD of Israel for his time.

Joshua’s fame (in our focus passage) was noised throughout all the country. Regarding Jesus, Matthew 9:26 says, “And the fame hereof went abroad into all that land.”

Joshua 1:2 Moses my servant is dead; now therefore arise, go over this Jordan, thou, and all this people, unto the land which I do give to them, even to the children of Israel.

Moses is a type of the law. Moses could see the PROMISED LAND afar off, but did not enter. The law cannot get you to heaven. Joshua (Jesus) arose, and carried the people into rest, into the Promised Land, into heaven. Only Jesus CAN GET YOU INTO THAT PROMISED LAND. By the way, that is verse 1:2 which is TWELVE for the 12 tribes of Israel.

Watch this 12…

Joshua 3:12 Now therefore take you twelve men out of the tribes of Israel, out of every tribe a man.

Jesus likewise took TWELVE DISCIPLES and all were HEBREWS/Israelites.

Joshua 3:7 And the Lord said unto Joshua, This day will I begin to magnify thee in the sight of all Israel, that they may know that, as I was with Moses, so I will be with thee.

Luke 1:46-47 And Mary said, My soul doth magnify the Lord, And my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour.

Joshua CONQUERED in the CANAANITE CONQUEST and Jesus is our CONQUEROR. We are MORE than conquerors in Christ (Romans 8).

Joseph (another serious type of Christ in the Bible) died at 110. SO DID JOSHUA. Both Joseph (meaning “He adds”) and Joshua start with “Jos” and have 6 letters apiece. 6 and 6 adjacent makes 66 for the 66 books. Gotta love it or leave it. Take your pick/pic.

Joshua is the SON OF NUN. Jesus is the SON OF NONE. God is the original wordsmith. Jesus has always been and always will be from everlasting to everlasting, having neither father or mother (like Melchizedek), descent of days, Whose going forth have been from of old, from everlasting, the same yesterday, today, and forever (Micah 5:2;Heb. 13:8)... While Jesus is the physical (as man) son of Mary, He created her and has ALWAYS BEEN.

Will you walk in the “powers of the world to come”(Heb.6) with affection on things above (Col.3) today? Will you allow Joshua (Jesus) to give you rest (abundant life and ultimately heaven) this day (Heb.4;John 10:10)? ARISE, AND LET’S CROSS JORDAN this day following our leader, Joshua (Jesus), -r <3
