SIN Robs You of GOOD THINGS…

05/25 Daily Exhortation (Heb. 3:13; 10:25; Matt.6:11; Luke 11:3)

A 5:25 for 5/25…

Jeremiah 5:25 (KJB) Your iniquities have turned away these things, and your sins have withholden good things from you.

Very, VERY loaded verse. Ever so slightly, let’s unload…

Context: 

Jer 5:22 Fear ye not me? saith the LORD: will ye not tremble at my presence, which have placed the sand for the bound of the sea by a perpetual decree, that it cannot pass it: and though the waves thereof toss themselves, yet can they not prevail; though they roar, yet can they not pass over it?

Jer 5:23 But this people hath a revolting and a rebellious heart; they are revolted and gone.

Jer 5:24 Neither say they in their heart, Let us now fear the LORD our God, that giveth rain, both the former and the latter, in his season: he reserveth unto us the appointed weeks of the harvest.

Jer 5:25 Your iniquities have turned away these things, and your sins have withholden good things from you.

Jer 5:26 For among my people are found wicked men: they lay wait, as he that setteth snares; they set a trap, they catch men.

Jer 5:27 As a cage is full of birds, so are their houses full of deceit: therefore they are become great, and waxen rich.

Note that being “great” and “waxen rich” are not the “good things” that God withheld from them! Selah. Note they had a REVOLTING AND REBELLIOUS HEART, and “they are revolted and GONE.” A reprobate society (Romans 1) is GONE. They are GONERS. People that want to trap the righteous and conspire to destroy the righteous are on the ROAD TO REPROBATION regardless of how much they *seem* to amass. They may “amass” things, but they are in A MESS. 

Isaiah 59:2 But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.

Psalms 34:10b …they that seek the LORD shall not want any good thing.

Psalms 84:11b …no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.

Note the syllogisms here. To not be robbed of good things, we must SEEK THE LORD and WALK UPRIGHTLY.

Watch how Jesus defines “good things” via parallel passages in the Gospels: 

Matthew 7:11 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?

Luke 11:13 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?

Watch WHAT GOD JUST DID. The “good things” is THE HOLY SPIRIT. The world can be “waxen rich” and the prosperity of fools shall destroy them, but they are lacking WHAT IS MOST IMPORTANT. This is what your enemies and the enemies of the cross cannot have: THE PRECIOUS ANOINTING, a Spirit-filled walk. They can only make a “fair shew of the flesh” and House of Saul forced will-worship. Why? They are in unrepentant sin and clutch to it with iron pride in a downward spiral to oblivion. PRAY DAILY FOR THEM. The world and worldly “church” are ROBBED. Satan has SPOILED THEM.

And YOU today, Brethren? Forsake the call, and forsake it ALL. Illustration: Mountain climbers... When they near the peaks, it is getting more and more difficult. If they fall, THEY ARE GONE. We are almost there. TOO LATE TO TURN BACK NOW. Ascend, Bride of Christ. –r <3
