PIVOTAL PRAYER PRINCIPLE

05/09 DAILY EXHORTATION (Matt. 6:11; Luke 11:3; Heb.3:13; 10:25)

Let us mine/mind this 5:9 on this 5/9…

(verses 7 and 8 for context)…

1 Peter 5:7 Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.

1 Peter 5:8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:

*Focus Passage: 1 Peter 5:9 (KJB)* Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.

The context is prayer and therein lies a PIVOTAL PRAYER PRINCIPLE: WE MUST pray for our brethren. 

Peter knows what it is like to have others praying for him: 

Acts 12:5 Peter therefore was kept in prison: but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him.

James 5:16 commands “…Pray one for another, that YE may be healed. “ Note the law of the harvest. If you sow prayers for others, you will reap into your own life. 

Job 42:10 And the LORD turned the captivity of Job, when he prayed for his friends: also the LORD gave Job twice as much as he had before.

We call this “The Doctrine of the Double” and it entails many passages, but for now, just know that as you intercede for your brethren, your church, the remnant in the world, God will GRANT YOU DELIVERANCE. 

The Golden Rule is to do unto others as you would have them do unto you. You want folks to pray for you. Thusly, pray for others.

Of course, we are to pray for ALL MEN: 1 Timothy 2:1 I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men…

We are to do good to all men and ESPECIALLY THE HOUSEHOLD OF FAITH (Gal. 6:10). 

So, our focus passage says to hold up that Shield of Faith, and be prayerful (by inference and context) for the brethren going through the SAME DEVILISH AFFLICTIONS throughout the world. 

Ephesians 6:18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints…

The “Good Grid” of networked body of Christ remnant are going through serious afflictions as well. Satan is AFTER THEM. Pray ye for them. 

Rev. 1:9 I John, who also am your brother, and companion in tribulation, and in the kingdom and patience of Jesus Christ… 

1 Peter 4:13 But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy.

Acts 14:22 Confirming the souls of the disciples, and exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God.

1 Thessalonians 3:3 That no man should be moved by these afflictions: for yourselves know that we are appointed thereunto.
