Agree to Disagree?

Agree to Disagree in the Local Church? Book, chapter, and verse? 

08/16 Daily (Heb.3:13;10:25;Matt.6:11;Luke 11:3) Exhortation. 

For today, Sunday, 8/16, here is an 8:16 “Construction for Instruction” (2 Tim. 3:16)…

2 Chronicles 8:16 (KJB) Now all the work of Solomon was prepared unto the day of the foundation of the house of the LORD, and until it was finished. So the house of the LORD was perfected.

Packed Verse. Let's unpack just a bit of it. The “House of the Lord’ OT temple typifies the NT church, the temple of Christ’s body (John 2, etc.). 

Therefore, let us draw some applications here. Solomon represents “wisdom.” Proverbs 9 speaks of wisdom building her house and hewing out pillars. The church is called the pillar and ground of the truth (1 Tim. 3:15). There is a foundation laid (1 Cor. 3:11 says it is CHRIST). But notice the two words of “finished” and “perfected.” LOADED!!!!

31 verses have an 8:16 construction. In Bible Numerics, 31 points to Jesus dying for His Proverbs 31 Bride (church) in 31 AD (Jesus was born 4 BC). 8=New Beginnings. 16=Charity. The greatest “giving” love (charity; John 3:16; John 15:13) ever displayed was Christ on the cross.  Will today be a new beginning of charity for you? 

Jesus said “It is finished” upon the cross. Jesus sent this message to Herod: “…and the third day I shall be perfected.” 1 Peter 1:3 says we are begotten again “by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.” Godhead (3) Resurrection power (3) brings about the perfection of the church. 

The world cannot produce the fruit of the Spirit of "love" (Galatians 5:22-23). They can "borrow" from the Christian worldview, but only imitate. And believers cannot possess a Holy Ghost quickened FERVENT/FIERY charity apart from the local church (replete with feasts of charity, etc.). The subtle serpent has attacked the church thusly by attacking the charity. ESPECIALLY in these end times. 

Back to our focus passage. Prep work of wisdom is wrought. A foundation must be laid. For 2,000 years, God’s church (the house of the Lord) has been “cognitive scaffolding” and now we are close to the end based upon signs of the times. The church is also called a “perfect man” inferred in 1 Cor. 13 (charity chapter) and referenced in Ephesians 4. Colossians 3:14 says that charity is “the bond of perfectness.” Charity points to the local church. The gates of hell have raged and raged (especially in the last days) but will NOT PREVAIL against the church. 

1 Peter 4:8 And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves: for charity shall cover the multitude of sins.

How can fervent charity exist with so many doctrinal divisions? It simply CANNOT. 

John 13:35 By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.

We just watched an atheist debate where the two Christians were from different denominations and the atheist was capitalizing on this. The early church agreed to agree. This is foundational. 1 Corinthians 12 teaches that there is to be NO SCHISM in the BODY OF CHRIST. The more a local church agrees, the more charity. Satan knows this full well. “Agreeing to Disagree” is a doctrine of devils. While folks outside of a local church are a different story, how can brethren covenanted together as the Bride of Christ be at variance gathering together unto divisions? Have grace with those outside your church circle - sure - but accountability demands a threshing out of the wheat/hammering out of doctrine and endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit and the bond of peace (Eph. 4).   Profe$$ional Church cannot be AGREED because of A GREED problem (bad for the bu$ine$$). 

Most have thrown in the towel on this. Why? They love their pet doctrines and sin far too much to trust for agreement by the Spirit of truth leading into all truth. Sadly, most won’t study their Bibles enough to even know what’s on the page – much less trust for all to be on the same page. 

How about a new beginning (8) of charity (16) today by trusting God to bring agreement in our marriages, in our homes, in our churches? 

Finish the Maranatha Marathon having BELIEVED GOD’S REPORT that fervent charity is possible in the local church. Trust God to perfect that which is lacking in faith (1 Thess. 3:10). May the Lord finish the work (Ps. 127). IS GOD ABLE? Are YOU willing? Selah.
