This 10/2, Let the Following brew for a few…

Jer 10:2 Thus saith the LORD, Learn not the way of the heathen…

One thing that God told His people over and over is to NOT DO AFTER THE HEATHEN, the unbelievers, the infidels…

In Genesis 34, when Dinah went out to SEE THE DAUGHTERS OF THE LAND, she became a sex object and much death ensued. Her father said a stink was raised in the final analysis. 

Romans 12:1-2 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Instead of being conformed to the world, be conformed to the WORD.

If the world doesn’t think you to be ODD, you are not walking close to GOD.

1 Peter 4:4 Wherein they think it strange that ye run not with them to the same excess of riot, speaking evil of you…

God says we are a “peculiar people” (Titus 2:14; 1 Peter 2:9). We are “strangers and pilgrims” (1 Peter 2:11).

Many Christians will learn the WAY of the heathen and then say, “But that’s not WHY I DO IT.” God doesn’t care WHY you do what He commands you not to do. He did not say, “Learn not the WHY OF THE HEATHEN” but “Learn not the WAY OF THE HEATHEN.”

“Church” means “called OUT ones.” We are called OUT OF EGYPT, OUT OF BABYLON, OUT OF THE WORLD, OUT OF THE HOUSE OF SAUL, OUT OF OUR OLD WAY OF LIFE, etc.

2 Corinthians 6:17 Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you.

Ezra 6:21 And the children of Israel, which were come again out of captivity, and all such as had separated themselves unto them from the filthiness of the heathen of the land, to seek the Lord God of Israel…

Here is a basic definition of “separation” by the Bible’s built-in dictionary…

Genesis 13:9 Is not the whole land before thee? separate thyself, I pray thee, from me: if thou wilt take the left hand, then I will go to the right; or if thou depart to the right hand, then I will go to the left.

Biblical separation in short: When the world goes left, YOU GO RIGHT. If the world goes right, you GO LEFT.

The spirit of truth and the spirit of error are total opposites generally (I realize, paradoxically, they can be neck and neck sometimes).

Ever since EDEN there is a LEGION trying to get you to BREATHE IN the ways of the HEATHEN. Instead we must DEEPEN our walk with God in FREEDOM. Freedom from conformity to carnality and Freedom TO walk in real reason apart from the heathen.
