Honesty!

HONESTY is the BEST POLICY…

08/21 Daily (Heb.3:13;10:25;Matt.6:11;Luke 11:3) Exhortation.

For 8/21 to follow is an 8:21 Construction for Instruction (2 Tim.3:16).

2 Corinthians 8:21 Providing for honest things, not only in the sight of the Lord, but also in the sight of men.

This is how the Lord works. When working on this exhortation for this date in the past, I did not have the address of the verse above memorized. I awoke around 3 AM or thereabouts. I literally wondered what glorious signs God would do that day. While in bed, I quoted the verse above (2 Cor. 8:21) in my mind. Lo and behold, it is of the verse construction corresponding to the date 8/21. Jesus thought of everything and I LOVE THIS JESUS WALK. Every single day!!! Years later, NOTHING HAS CHANGED. The Daily Jesus walk is sweeter DAY BY DAY!!!

Let this be a focus passage today. HONESTY. This is a very lacking trait in this modern generation. Chronic liars abound. If you have walked with God for any length of time, the Devil (which means “false accuser”), who is called the Father of lies (John 8:44, etc.), has raised up many lies against you. This is Satan’s Modus Operandi. It is sad how MOST won’t prove the veracity of the liar’s claims. They just RUN WITH IT. Rebellious people ALWAYS SIDE WITH REBELS. God is testing. 

Every. Single. Time. Period. And in every single time period. 

It’s almost amusing if not so sad how successfully Satan slanders/smears with falsehoods and nobody checks the accusations out with the accused. An honest person WANTS THE TRUTH, not the lopsided lies from limited sources.

We are to be honest in the sight of the Lord and in the sight of all men. It is impossible to fool the Lord firstly. But principles of self-deception are key here. Folks hold/suppress the truth to the point where they believe their own lies. I have met many such over the years that lie so frequently, they DECEIVE THEMSELVES. Spooky and sad. Ananias and Sapphira attempted to “lie to the Holy Ghost” in Acts 5. It says, “Thou hast not lied unto men, but unto God.” Many drag their loved ones into their "hatched from hell" lies. This husband/wife team in Acts 5 conspired together in a dynamic of delusion and were reprobated for such actions. Take heed.

Speaking of actions, honesty is more than just words, but works; it is more than just our talk, but our walk.

God speaks of “an honest and good heart” in Luke 8:15 as one that hears the word of God and keeps it and brings forth fruit. DAILY JESUS WALK ALERT. Last night, grocery shopping with my best friend (besides Jesus), my Missing Rib, I pointed out a product called “Good Seed.” Well, Matthew 13 has the Parable of the Sower and also has the “good seed” phrase used a bunch.

Luke 8:21 And he answered and said unto them, My mother and my brethren are these which hear the word of God, and do it.

Acts 6:3 says that men of “honest report” are full of the Holy Ghost and wisdom and can thusly be trusted in God’s local church. Romans 12:17 reiterates, “…Provide things honest in the sight of all men.”

Here is a contrast to honesty: Romans 13:13 Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying.

1 Thessalonians 4:12 says to “walk honestly toward them that are without….” Those outside of the church should behold our honest dealings.

1 Peter 2:12 Having your conversation honest among the Gentiles: that, whereas they speak against you as evildoers, they may by your good works, which they shall behold, glorify God in the day of visitation.

Philippians 4:8 commands us to think upon “whatsoever things are honest…”

Also, do an HONEST job in your work (Col. 3:23).

Today, be honest before GOD FIRST AND FOREMOST, be honest with yourself, be honest with your spouse, walk honestly among family, friends, those within the church, and those without. Let the liars lie. Let the railers rail. Let the haters hate. Let the crooks be crooked. All will be EXPOSED and EXPELLED. It will all come back full circle (law of the harvest; law of cause and effect) and be brought into the light of God’s judgment. And, all the liars are reaping liars lying to them (sad reality). The more dishonest your enemies are, the more honest you should be. Be a STARK CONSTRAST today.

What God hath PROMISED to those that are HONEST!!!
