I LITERALLY went to sleep listening to the dramatized RUTH the night before this charge! And it really jumped out at me that Ruth’s “Hap” was to light on Boaz’s field to glean, so I prayed that God would guide us into “haps” the next day!
Also, I discussed that Deuteronomy passage with Hava when we were gleaning hay at our friend’s farm the other day! 😮

Boaz is the KINSMAN REDEEMER, a Type or Portrait of CHRIST. Ruth is a Type or Representative of the BRIDE of CHRIST. God Grants Gleanings (Divine Davidic Dividends) that "seem" to fall our way, but via the Sovereign Hand of God, they are HANDFULS of PURPOSE…
Deuteronomy 24:19-22 When thou cuttest down thine harvest in thy field, and hast forgot a sheaf in the field, thou shalt not go again to fetch it: it shall be for the stranger, for the fatherless, and for the widow: that the LORD thy God may bless thee in all the work of thine hands.
When thou beatest thine olive tree, thou shalt not go over the boughs again: it shall be for the stranger, for the fatherless, and for the widow.

Ruth had ASKED (see Matt. 7:7 and Micah 7:7) if she could glean in the fields of barley. James teaches that we have not because we ask not or that we ask amiss, yea, with wrong motive. Do we want the finest of the wheat from the Lord (spiritually speaking)? Why not A. S. K. (Ask, Seek, Knock) and Pursue with Persistent Petition, yea, Stubborn Supplication?
Let's drive home a glorious revelation in this passage. If you’ll note, Ruth is getting GLEANINGS. However, Boaz has commanded his servants to DELIBERATELY LEAVE “HANDFULS of PURPOSE.” Ruth does not KNOW this. This means she thinks she is getting gleanings but Boaz has deliberately commanded them.

You see, "work" appeareth 419 times in the 66 Books of the Bible. Philippians 4:19 saith, "My God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus." God gets INFINITE GLORY for all we do and as we work, He provides the network and our net worth. Notice the Numerical Nexus if thou wilt.
