A THORNY Situation

03/18 DAILY EXHORTATION

(Heb. 3:13; 10:25; Matt.6:11; Luke 11:3)

A 3:18 for this 3/18:

Gen. 3:17 And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life;

👉Genesis 3:18👈 Thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth to thee; and thou shalt eat the herb of the field…

Thorns are the result of the CURSE of the fall of Satan and the fall of man. 

Joshua 23:13 Know for a certainty that the LORD your God will no more drive out any of these nations from before you; but they shall be snares and traps unto you, and scourges in your sides, and 👉thorns in your eyes👈, until ye perish from off this good land which the LORD your God hath given you.

Proverbs 22:5 Thorns and snares are in the way of the froward: he that doth keep his soul shall be far from them.

Proverbs 24:30-32 I went by the field of the slothful, and by the vineyard of the man void of understanding;

Prov. 24:31 And, lo, it was all grown over with thorns, and nettles had covered the face thereof, and the stone wall thereof was broken down.

Prov. 24:32 Then I saw, and considered it well: I looked upon it, and received instruction.

Thorns can be DEVILS (fallen angels & persons of prickly personality)… 

2 Corinthians 12:7 And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure.

Messenger here is Greek “angelos” for angel. Paul had a thorn in HIS EYES. Paul had to write very large (Gal. 6:11) due to this eye issue spirit-inflicted infirmity.  

Galatians 4:13-15 

13 Ye know how through infirmity of the flesh I preached the gospel unto you at the first.

14 And my temptation which was in my flesh ye despised not, nor rejected; but received me as an angel of God, even as Christ Jesus.

15 Where is then the blessedness ye spake of? for I bear you record, that, if it had been possible, ye would have plucked out your own eyes, and have given them to me.

L👀k at THAT👆‼️ Once you see it, you cannot unsee it. The 411 Info of Paul's Infirmity is a RICH study. 

This thorn was so that OTHERS would not exalt him above measure due to his manifold revelations. The Paul-onlyism of today is akin to "I am of Paul" carnality rebuked by Paul himself in 1 Cor. 3. Beware of HyperDispensationalism‼️ And Beware of Pentecostalism Hyper-healing that denies Paul's eye infirmities and thinks we get all Atonement benefits NOW rather than progressively staggered in unfolding stages❗The simple fact that we die means all Atonement benefits are not IMMEDIATE. 

New Perversions (666) attack Paul and change this to make Paul have a pride problem. False! Slandering Paul brings damnation (see Rom. 3:8) and the Devil doth know this. The NIV and ESV (etc.) will say the thorn was so Paul would not become "conceited" and others (NASV, LSB, AMP, etc.) will say Paul had the thorn to not "exalt myself." The King James Bible got it right. 

Without breaking all Greek Geek Grammatical, know that the passive (KJB) versus middle voice (NIV, etc.) is determined by context and the 47 KJB translators knew this. 

Immediate Context in the prior verse:

2 Corinthians 12:6 ...lest any man should think of me above that which he seeth me to be, or that he heareth of me. 

Passive. God did not want us to Exalt Paul above measure. Beware of Lying NEW VERSIONS‼️

Jeremiah 4:3 For thus saith the LORD to the men of Judah and Jerusalem, Break up your fallow ground, and sow not among thorns.

Matthew 13:7 And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprung up, and choked them…

Jesus defines “thorns” as “the care of this world” and “the deceitfulness of riches…” Those that love money are crawling with devils. Why? It is the root of ALL EVIL (1 Tim. 6:10). That is, trace all evil to the root beginning, and Satan had gold, diamonds, riches (see Ezek. 28). If your translation says "root of all KINDS of evil, " this is Satan covering his tracks (Prov. 30:19-20; Mk. 4:15).

Matthew 13:22 He also that received seed among the thorns is he that heareth the word; and the care of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, choke the word, and he becometh unfruitful.

Hmmmm…. The “TRUE RICHES” are mentioned in the Luke 16:11. That means the riches of this life are FAKE RICHES. They are a test. The true riches are everlasting and stored up above. 

Hebrews 6:8 But that which beareth thorns and briers is rejected, and is nigh unto cursing; whose end is to be burned.

2 Samuel 23:6 But the sons of Belial shall be all of them as thorns thrust away, because they cannot be taken with hands…

Jesus, the Last Adam (Rom. 5:14; 1 Cor. 15:45) took the CROWN Of THORNS to redeem us from the CURSE. 

Matthew 27:29 And when they had platted a crown of thorns, they put it upon his head, and a reed in his right hand: and they bowed the knee before him, and mocked him, saying, Hail, King of the Jews!

One day, the thorns will be NO MORE. 

Revelation 22:3 And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve him...
