Wasting Oil?

Are you WASTING the oil of the Holy Ghost? 

11/07 Daily Exhortation (Heb.3:13;10:25;Matt.6:11;Luke 11:3)…

For this 11/7, here is a glimpse of heaven from this 11:7…

Deuteronomy 11:7 But your eyes have seen all the great acts of the LORD which he did.

Next verse… Deuteronomy 11:8  Therefore shall ye keep all the commandments which I command you this day, that ye may be strong, and go in and possess the land, whither ye go to possess it…

As the “Israel of God,” as the church, we can glean from these passages and latch on nicely. Friends, we are heading for the promised land of heaven. Do we FORGET what all God has done in mighty signs and deeds wrought by the anointing of the Holy Ghost?  

When God does daily signs/wonders, we rejoice greatly. When it is extra notable, I try and email it to myself (we’ve written hundreds in our Bible margins as well). If I ever need personal revival, it is as simple as searching for years and years and years of AMAZING SIGNS AND WONDERS God has graciously wrought!!!! Well!!

Don’t let the Lord bestow signs upon you IN VAIN. But the purpose of signs is OBEDIENCE. Don’t waste your oil on foolish virgins (Matthew 25) and don’t be of the number where the oil was wasted. Matthew 25 teaches there must be sacrifice to get that oil. 

Ps 106:2 Who can utter the mighty acts of the LORD? who can shew forth all his praise?

Ps 106:3 Blessed are they that keep judgment, and he that doeth righteousness at all times.

Note the OBEDIENCE in the immediate context. And again… 

Romans 15:18-19 For I will not dare to speak of any of those things which Christ hath not wrought by me, to make the Gentiles obedient, by word and deed, 19 Through mighty signs and wonders, by the power of the Spirit of God; so that from Jerusalem, and round about unto Illyricum, I have fully preached the gospel of Christ.

Are we raising up godly seed that appreciates God’s daily signs/wonders? 

Psalm 145:4 One generation shall praise thy works to another, and shall declare thy mighty acts.

This generation is in need of a demonstration of the Spirit…

 

1 Cor. 2:4-5 4 And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power: 5 That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.

Paul’s preaching was to be obeyed (special apostolic authority) and so the demonstration of the Spirit and power had a PURPOSE.

 

Acts 5:32 And we are his witnesses of these things; and so is also the Holy Ghost, whom God hath given to them that obey him.

Has the Lord done GREAT ACTS in your life? Show forth those great acts and OBEY HIM. He is worthy. 

Psalm 74:4 Thine enemies roar in the midst of thy congregations; they set up their ensigns for signs.

Be careful about the COUNTERFEITS of the enemy. The enemies’ ensigns replace legitimate signs today. We are not talking crazy-matic falsehoods, but God confirming His word with glorious signs and answers to prayer, etc. 

Trust for daily signs, and obey the Lord in that strength today - and DO *NOT* WASTE OIL, -r <3
