ACTUALLY implementing all of that head knowledge that people accumulate is what will keep you from becoming a fat fake hypocrite!!!! 

Soooooo many today just go through the motions of posting good memes, (barely) praying and reading their Bibles, going to “church”, and really trying hard to do NOTHING. What a pitiful and pathetic state of Christianity today!!!! :(

HEARING The WORD? NOT ENOUGH. OBEY The WORD!

01/22 DAILY EXHORTATION (Matt.6:11; Luke 11:3; Heb.3:13; 10:25)…

For this 1/22, Watch this 1:22…

James 1:22 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.

You 🫵 cannot just HEAR GOD’S WORD, but you must DO GOD’S WORD. Otherwise, you are engaging in self-deception and self-delusion.  

EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. PERIOD. 

And in every single time period. 

1 Corinthians 3:18 warns, “Let no man deceive himself.” And Galatians 6:3 admonishes: “For if a man think himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceiveth himself.” Those that hear God’s word, BUT ARE DISOBEDIENT TO IT, will oft think highly of themselves because they hear and understand. However, the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom and you only have a “good understanding” if you “DO HIS COMMANDMENTS” per Psalms 111:10…

Hebrews 2:1 exhorts: 

Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip.

Many, many, many hear but then DO NOT DO WHAT THEY HEAR. They feel that “hearing” is enough. IT IS NOT. 

Here’s another 1:22 just like our focus passage: 

1 Peter 1:22 Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently…

Note you have to OBEY THE TRUTH. And note that a litmus test is UNFEIGNED LOVE OF THE “pillar and ground of the truth” which is the local CHURCH (1 Tim. 3:15). Fervent charity for the brethren proves that you are OBEYING THE SPIRIT OF TRUTH / the truth of the word. All else is “deceiving your own selves” as our focus passage so aptly puts it. 

Today, will you BE A DOER OF THE WORD? 

James 4:17 Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.

BE A DOER. 

Matthew 12:50 For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother.

Parallel passage: 

Luke 11:28 But he said, Yea rather, blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it.

Note that DOING The WILL OF GOD is equal to HEARING The WORD OF GOD *AND* KEEPING/DOING IT. 

YOU WON’T BE HAPPY UNLESS YOU DO WHAT YOU KNOW/HEAR!!!!

John 13:17 If ye know these things, happy are ye if ye do them.

Romans 2:13 (For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified.

1 John 2:3 And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.

1 John 3:7 Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.

3 John 1:11 Beloved, follow not that which is evil, but that which is good. He that doeth good is of God: but he that doeth evil hath not seen God.

WANT A Special BLESSING? 

Revelation 1:3 Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand.

Revelation 22:7 Behold, I come quickly: blessed is he that keepeth the sayings of the prophecy of this book.

And it's not just hearing, but HOW you hear:

Luke 8:18 Take heed therefore how ye hear... 

And it's not just doing, but HOW you do:

Colossians 3:23 And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men... 

Colossians 3:17 And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him. 

1 Corinthians 10:31 Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.

I beseech you 🫵, don’t just hear, but...
