02/10 Daily Exhortation (Matt. 6:11; Luke 11:3; Heb. 3:13; 10:25).
But... If you LOATHE SIN, you won't LEAVE The CHURCH. Selah.
Cover a multitude of sin this 2/10 with the following 2:10…
1 John 2:10 He that loveth his brother abideth in the light, and there is none occasion of stumbling in him.
Love for the Brethren is a litmus test & spiritual compass to see if you are walking in the light or stumbling in sins.
1 Peter 4:8 And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves: for charity shall cover the multitude of sins.
There is a direct ratio parallel between sin and love of the Brethren. Hebrews 3 teaches we are to EXHORT DAILY lest any be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin. Few listen. They wax calloused and desensitised.
Hebrews 3: 12 Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God.
13 But exhort one another 👉daily👈, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.
Would to God that all the Lord's people were as prophets (Num. 11:29) and God told Ezekiel to warn whether they listen or nay:
Ezekiel 2:5; 33:33
And they, whether they will hear, or whether they will forbear, (for they are a rebellious house,) yet shall know that there hath been a prophet among them.
And when this cometh to pass, (lo, it will come,) then shall they know that a prophet hath been among them.
Few heed daily exhortations because of daily extra sins, but we are committed to exhort regardless.
2 Timothy 2:22 Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.
Note you FLEE YOUTHFUL LUSTS *with* pure-hearted brethren of prayer.
Acts 2:42 And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.
When you LOVE someone, you want to be AROUND THEM. When you love Christ’s body/church, you want to strengthen/edify that body. 1 Corinthians 16:15 calls this being addicted to “the ministry of the saints.”
Acts 20:7 And upon the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul preached unto them, ready to depart on the morrow; and continued his speech until midnight.
The early church had a different dynamic than this Drive-Thru, Microwave Meeting prevalent today. Drive-Thru Discipleship Cools fast.
Forsakers, abandoners, deserters of God’s assembly are sensual and not walking in the Spirit:
Jude 19 These be they who separate themselves, sensual, having not the Spirit.
1 Corinthians 16:14 Let all your things be done with charity.
Remember, charity is a core church characteristic. Clarity: The church is in charge of charity.
Hebrews 13:1 Let brotherly love continue.
