Love Thy Neighbour as Thyself…

04/25 Daily Exhortation (Matt.6:11; Luke 11:3; Heb.3:13; 10:25)…

Let us strive to be as this 4:25 for 4/25…

Ephesians 4:25 (KJB) Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbour: for we are members one of another.

How about an angle of this rarely taught? Shall we? 

To “love thy neighbour” as thyself is the ROYAL LAW according to the scripture. 

James 2:8 (KJB) If ye fulfil the royal law according to the scripture, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself, ye do well…

Yet, our focus passage gives quite a different and rare perspective.

It says regarding “neighbour” that “we are members one of another.” Paul takes “neighbour” to a whole different dynamic level: the local church. 

Watch these two 6:10’s….

Galatians 6:10 As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.

Hebrews 6:10 For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.

⚠️‼️DAILY JESUS WALK ALERT‼️⚠️ I literally just looked at Galatians 6:10 and Hebrews 6:10 this AM before even knowing it would be in this resurrected charge! Daily. I cannot live without HIM. 

The only GOOD addiction listed in the Bible is being addicted to the ministry of the Saints: 

1 Corinthians 16:15 I beseech you, brethren, (ye know the house of Stephanas, that it is the firstfruits of Achaia, and that they have addicted themselves to the ministry of the saints,)

By the way, Stephanas means “crown” and herein lies great reward: treating the church members with great care (see 1 Cor. 12). 

Our focus passage says to PUT AWAY (divorce) lying. We are to speak TRUTH with our neighbours/members of the church. 

James 4:11 Speak not evil one of another, brethren. He that speaketh evil of his brother, and judgeth his brother, speaketh evil of the law, and judgeth the law: but if thou judge the law, thou art not a doer of the law, but a judge.

James 3:14 But if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth.

The church is called the PILLAR AND GROUND OF THE TRUTH in 1 Timothy 3:15. To speak evil (rail/speak falsely) against a brother/sister in the local church is to speak evil of the law and the truth (since they were born of the truth, have the Truth indwelling them, and they are the Body of the Word of God (Christ, the Head).

Also, Jesus identified Himself as the "good neighbour" as the Good Samaritan that poured in the oil and the wine. We are bone of His bones, flesh of His flesh...

Certainly pray for your neighbours by your side in your neighborhood DAILY, but catch the deeper meaning. It is Caught as much as Taught. Did you CATCH IT?
