What 46 Depicts...

4/6 Daily Exhortation (Heb.3:13; 10:25; Matt.6:11; Luke 11:3)

A 4:6 for 4/6...

Matthew 4:5-7 (KJB)  Then the devil taketh him up into the holy city, and setteth him on a pinnacle of the temple,

*4:6* And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.

4:7 Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.

46 Depicts the TEMPLE in Bible Numerics. Humans have 23 X chromosomes and 23 Y chromosomes (46) in every cell. Man was created to be the TEMPLE OF GOD. Satan quickly stepped in with 46 words in Genesis 3 to tempt Eve. When Adam talks about Eve as bone of his bones and flesh of his flesh, he uses 46 words. By the way, it involves 2:23 (2x23). In Gen. 11, when the residents of Babel want to ascend to heaven, they use 46 words. God is Sovereign over the records to let us know that Satan is after the temple. Even as Antichrist will sit in the temple (2 Thess.2:4) and claim to be God, the Antichrist spirit comes to the temple (individuals and church gatherings) to do the same.

Our focus passage has Jesus on the pinnacle of the temple in Matthew 4:6 (see the Sovereignly-ordained 46 there? Hint hint) being tried by Satan. 

Satan longs to sift you as wheat and tempt your temple. Are you resisting today with "It is written?"

John 2:19-21 (KJB)  Jesus answered and said unto them, Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.

Then said the Jews, Forty and six years was this temple in building, and wilt thou rear it up in three days?

But he spake of the temple of his body.

Note the 46. Jesus' body is the bread (word of God) and the church. We are born of the word of God, etc.

Luke 2:46 (46!) And it came to pass, that after three days they found him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the doctors, both hearing them, and asking them questions.

Luke 2 above is the 46th chapter of the New Testament!!

Luke 2:27 And he came by the Spirit into the temple: and when the parents brought in the child Jesus, to do for him after the custom of the law...

Luke 2:37 And she was a widow of about fourscore and four years, which departed not from the temple, but served God with fastings and prayers night and day.

The 46th book (1 Corinthians) has this:

1 Corinthians 3:16

Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?

1 Corinthians 3:17

If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.

1 Corinthians 6:19

What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?

1 Corinthians 8:10

For if any man see thee which hast knowledge sit at meat in the idol's temple, shall not the conscience of him which is weak be emboldened to eat those things which are offered to idols;

1 Corinthians 9:13

Do ye not know that they which minister about holy things live of the things of the temple? and they which wait at the altar are partakers with the altar?

Point to your temple(s) on your head/skull. This depicts your mind as well. Think. Selah. Satan must get into your thought life to take over your temple. Acts 5 asks, "Why hast Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Ghost?" Gradualism of the subtle serpent.

Here are 2 more 4:6 constructions that come to mind:

Galatians 4:6 And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.

We are THE TEMPLE of the Holy Ghost. 

It takes the Spirit to take care of the temple of our bodies and the local body of believers (the church)...

Zechariah 4:6  Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the word of the LORD unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts.

"The word of God" is 46 times in the Bible and God's word is to abide/make abode in you/dwell in you richly (John 15:7, Col.3:16).

"Vessel" is 46 times in the KJB.

I exhort you to take care of God's vessel/ temple today by the Holy Ghost and His holy word, -r <3
