The Fear of the Lord gives LONG LIFE… 

06/02 Daily Exhortation… (Heb. 3:13 & 10:25; Luke 11:3; Matt. 6:11)…

Here’s a 6:2 for 6/2…

Deuteronomy 6:2 (KJB) That thou mightest fear the LORD thy God, to keep all his statutes and his commandments, which I command thee, thou, and thy son, and thy son's son, all the days of thy life; and that thy days may be prolonged.

One of the promises of the Bible is to honour thy father and thy mother that thy days may be long (the only commandment with promise attached). Of course, we honour only as unto the Lord. If a father/mother are contrary to the word of God, that honour is limited to not transgressing the Lord. If they are persecutors and dead-set on deterring your faith, no honourable submission should be present with such. But regardless, as long as you are not crossing other Bible convictions, HONOUR. Long life will ensue.

Proverbs 20:20 Whoso curseth his father or his mother, his lamp shall be put out in obscure darkness.

We experienced quite the sign with this verse once. Take it or leave it, but God has done this type of thing for decades before many witnesses. God STILL MOVES. It was 2019 and we were doing a Bible-based Birthday charge as is our custom. During the dinner before the time of cherishing/charging/charity, a person asked me regarding the meaning of Proverbs 20:20 and especially what “his lamp shall be put out in obscure darkness” meant. We entered into the discussion of “Road to Reprobation” and outright lights-out reprobation where the light of conscience is seared and put out, etc. Fast forward into the charge. God was laying out some glorious providences and I said during the charge that one young man who had departed from his local church – that his signs are now TURNED DOWN (I motioned my hand in a turning off motion and said “TURNED DOWN” with strong preaching emphasis). At that precise moment, our light bulb in the lamp feet in front of me BLEW (with a loud pop and no, it was not storming out) and glass shattered across two young men at the party and glass even went into their cups ruining their drinks. The lamp was “put out” in physical type!! We all saw it as a notable sign. Of note is that the two young men left their local churches in 2020 (see the 20:20 connection?)!!! More to that story, but suffice it to say that one man’s pure COINCIDENCE is another man’s perfectly-timed PROVIDENCE. God is speaking. Where are the ears to hear? 

Why do people forfeit so much? It is because of the LACK OF THE FEAR OF GOD.

EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. PERIOD. And in every single time period. 

Here is a 20/20 vision regarding the FEAR OF THE LORD: 

Exodus 20:20 And Moses said unto the people, Fear not: for God is come to prove you, and that his fear may be before your faces, that ye sin not.

This 20:20 verse reminds me of yet another 6:2 verse: 

Romans 6:2 God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?

“Yeah, but what about mercy?” Indeed and in very deed. Good question. 

Proverbs 16:6 By mercy and truth iniquity is purged: and by the fear of the LORD men depart from evil.

The Fear of the Lord is at an all-time low. Folks “DARE” God to punish/destroy them by their willful acts against God’s word and will. 

Proverbs 3:1-2 My son, forget not my law; but let thine heart keep my commandments: For length of days, and long life, and peace, shall they add to thee.

Long Life is ETERNAL LIFE. How’s that FEAR OF THE LORD today, Brethren? Why does God have to move heaven and earth in kuhzillions of signs (confirming His word) for folks to fear Him? And why do folks negate them all in willful sin/rebellion? And how will you fare on Judgment Day(s) when there is no fear of the Lord and trembling at His word RIGHT NOW? For some, it’s too late (because they are reprobate), but how about YOU this day? Press in, friend. Arise, church of the Lord scattered abroad. FEAR YOUR HEAVENLY FATHER and love Him supremely and teach that to your children in Deuteronomy 6 fashion, -r <3
