Is the BIBLE your BEDROCK? 

07/26 DAILY (Heb.3:13;10:25;Matt.6:11;Luke 11:3) Exhortation.

 

Here is a 7:26 Construction for Instruction on this 7/26 day…

Matthew 7:26 (KJB) And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand…

The Bible is the BEDROCK FOUNDATION. The Psalmist so aptly asked, “If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?” 

Jesus, God Almighty, said that we are to HEAR HIS WORDS, AND DO THEM. Otherwise, our foundation is shifting sand. 

Jesus said in Luke 8:18, “Take heed therefore HOW ye hear…” Revelation promises a blessing to those that read AND HEAR. So, one must read, and hear, and take heed how they hear. But James says we deceive ourselves if we are hearers only and not doers. Thusly, we must do. But Colossians 3:23 says we are to do all things “heartily as unto the Lord and not man.” Moreover, 1 Cor. 10:31 states to do ALL THINGS “to the glory of God.” Sound complex? Sound impossible? God ordered His commands in such a way that you need Him to do anything. 

The Bible says God’s commandments are “not grievous.” Why? When you REALLY LOVE JESUS, it does not grieve you to obey Him. Moreover, you understand how you NEED him to obey him and when you draw nigh to Him, He helps you to obey Him. Jesus said, “If you love me, keep my commandments.” To draw near to Christ is to love Him more, and the more grace He supplies to keep His commandments, and they are simply not grievous.

 

Folks oft say, “Trials build character.” Not so fast there, killer. Easy there. Think this through. It’s not the trials/tests of life that build character. IT IS HOW YOU RESPOND TO THE TEST based upon your FOUNDATION which determines positive outcome. God tries EVERYBODY EVERY MOMENT per Job 7:18. Not all pass those tests. WILL YOU? 

There are exactly 21 cases in the Bible of a 7:26 verse construction. This is perfect because that in Bible numerics, 21 points to the scripture. I literally looked at the time day of this charge at 10:21 AM and thought of the first mention of “scripture” (singular) being in Daniel 10:21 which was after a 21 day fast. “Scriptures” (plural) is found 21 times in the Bible and the first is in Matthew 21. “Two tables” is 21 times. “Counsellors” is in there 21 times. The 66 books are our counsellors. Jesus’ sayings ARE THE SCRIPTURES. 

The focus passage for today teaches in context that two camps of people exist on this earth: Those that hear Jesus’ sayings and do, and those that hear Jesus’ sayings and DO NOT. One has a bedrock foundation which cannot be moved, and the other shifting sand. Both get the same test/trials. Both get the winds/rain/flood. But each responds differently. One is still standing the test(s), the other destroyed. 

Which will you be today? Will you HEAR JESUS AND DO WHAT HE SAYS? If the Bible is your Bedrock foundation, then today, please READ, CONCEDE, HEED, PROCEED, AND SUCCEED, I PLEAD.
