07/15 Daily Exhortation (Heb. 3:13; 10:25; Matt.6:11; Luke 11:3)
On 7/15, here is a 7:15 construction for instruction & exhortation for edification…
2 Samuel 7:15 (KJB) But my mercy shall not depart away from him, as I took it from Saul, whom I put away before thee.
God is speaking of DAVID versus SAUL. This is a very rich, and deep contrast, but we will touch upon the surface only...
David means “Beloved” and Saul means “Asked for.” See, the PEOPLE asked for Saul, but ultimately, all that is God’s acceptable will is “accepted in the Beloved” (Eph. 1:6).
**Are you the HOUSE OF SAUL or the HOUSE OF DAVID?**
The House of Saul represents with many different aspects/attributes as does the House of David.
Hosea 13:11 I gave thee a king [Saul] in mine anger, and took him away in my wrath.
2 Samuel 1:21 …For there the shield of the mighty is vilely cast away, the shield of Saul, as though he had not been anointed with oil.
God said regarding mercy: “as I took it from Saul, whom I put away…” Strong language. Being the House of Saul is a cursed path.
Jonah 2:8 They that observe lying vanities forsake their own mercy.
Saul was anointed with a vial (representing judgment; 1 Samuel 10:1) and David with an horn (1 Samuel 16:13; representing sacrifice, etc.).
David is zealous over Saul. Saul is jealous (javelin in hand) over David.
Saul points to stepping OUT OF THE PRIMARY WILL OF GOD, looking at the world around you. David represents a zealous walk with God, pressing into His Primary will, pressing into the bosom of God, longing for His heartbeat. This creates a conflict between the House of Saul and the House of David.
2 Samuel 3:1 Now there was long war between the house of Saul and the house of David: but David waxed stronger and stronger, and the house of Saul waxed weaker and weaker.
Galatians 4:29 But as then he that was born after the flesh persecuted him that was born after the Spirit, even so it is now.
Akin to Ishmael versus Isaac, Saul=flesh and David=Spirit.
Saul of Tarsus (Pharisee/Professional Organized Religion) became Paul (means "small") of Jesus (Bride of Christ)...
Watch how this ALWAYS goes…
1 Samuel 16:21 And David came to Saul, and stood before him: and he loved him greatly; and he became his armourbearer.
1 Samuel 18:20 And Michal Saul's daughter loved David…
1 Samuel 19:9-10 And the evil spirit from the LORD was upon Saul, as he sat in his house with his javelin in his hand: and David played with his hand. And Saul sought to smite David even to the wall with the javelin: but he slipped away out of Saul's presence, and he smote the javelin into the wall: and David fled, and escaped that night.
2 Samuel 6:16 And as the ark of the LORD came into the city of David, Michal Saul's daughter looked through a window, and saw king David leaping and dancing before the LORD; and she despised him in her heart.
Note the transition. We have observed this for 3 decades. The House of Saul will LOVE, LOVE you at first. But when the “honeymoon is over” (so to speak), they hate you and will persecute/pursue you and your seed in a downward, devil-driven demise. DRIVEN. They’ll make deals hatched from hell. Just join them and the persecution stops (saith Satan). Like clockwork. The scriptures cannot be broken.
EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. PERIOD. And in every single time period.
