7/4 Daily Exhortation (Heb.3:13; 10:25; Matt.6:11; Luke11:3)…

Here is a 7:4 CONSTRUCTION FOR INSTRUCTION this 7/4…

Judges 7:4 And the LORD said unto Gideon, The people are yet too many; bring them down unto the water, and I will try them for thee there: and it shall be, that of whom I say unto thee, This shall go with thee, the same shall go with thee; and of whomsoever I say unto thee, This shall not go with thee, the same shall not go.

God can save/deliver by many or by few . Zech. 4:10 admonishes not to despise the day of small things. Zech. 4:6 says that it’s not by might, nor by power, but by God’s SPIRIT. Period. Watch that subset 4:6 right here: 

1 Samuel 14:6 And Jonathan said to the young man that bare his armour, Come, and let us go over unto the garrison of these uncircumcised: it may be that the Lord will work for us: for there is no restraint to the Lord to save by many or by few.

God gets MORE GLORY when a shepherd boy (House of David) slays Goliath (1 Samuel 17). God chooses the foolish things to confound the wise, the base things to confound the mighty (1 Cor. 2, etc.). God loves to use children as object lessons, vessels, etc. Why? That no flesh would glory/boast in His presence. 

In our passage, Gideon gets together an army of 32,000. But God says it is TOO MANY. Why? God wants to get the MOST GLORY. God reduces the army down to 300. Basically, down to 1 percent. Gideon, with 32 thousand men, is about to take on 135 thousand Midianites and GOD SAYS THAT 32 THOUSAND IS TOO MANY!!!!! Read that again. Let that soak in. Stop chasing Celebrity Christianity. They will not rule and reign in the Millennium and everlasting Kingdom (Isaiah 9:6-8), etc. The first will be LAST, and the last will be FIRST. Selah to the soul. 

For some reason, in our tiny house church, historically moons ago, Independence Day has been a time where many have departed over the years into sin. Very fitting. However, God reduces the less vigilant. Amen. So be it. 

In our passage, the way God picks the 300 is He has Gideon take the soldiers to a water source to get water. All that got down and put their head in the water (where they could not be watching) did not make the cut. But the ones that cup the water in their hands and bring the water up to their mouths, and lap it like a dog, they are selected. Who will ascend the holy hill? Those with clean hands (as the Psalmist so aptly put it). The VIGILANT and CIRCUMSPECT soldiers were selected. Why? By bringing the water to the mouth, they were upright and looking around. The others had blind spots. Those whose hands (works) are clean are chosen. The others soiled their hands on the bank and were not vigilant. They are easy prey for the enemy. 

We have taught for years on the Canine Characteristics of the Creator (interesting paradoxical study). Dogs can have quite the negative typology. But dogs that bark are likened unto good watchmen by Isaiah, and of course, the King James Bible runs the universe. WW2 Infantrymen were called “dog-face” and wore DOG TAGS. You’ll never improve on our English Bible as it is PROPHETIC and the counterfeits are PATHETIC. Dogs are very loyal. They licked Lazarus’s wounds. They GUARD. On and on. 

Are you the 1 percent today? I remember the Occupy Wallstreet calling themselves the 99 PERCENT. Many moons ago, they had a First (and last) Annual Pagan Pride Festival here in Roanoke. The banner and logo was a Mobius (like in the NKJV) and it said “ALL FAITHS WELCOME.” Okay, so, we went in and began to hand out Gospel tracts and witness. WE WERE KICKED OUT OF THE EVENT. Why? All faiths were welcome, EXCEPT THE TRUE FAITH. So, we walked up to a preaching corner and lo and behold, Occupy Roanoke was there across from our preaching corner. They saw us coming with signs and started clapping, but their laughter turned into mourning when they saw our signs with scripture. It was a good preach and they withstood us strong. They were calling the wealthy elite the one percent. Well, in my analogy and in my Book, the most treasures above are to the HOUSE OF DAVID ZEAL, THE REDUCED NUMBERS OF NOBODY’S. 

The marriage supper of the Lamb is for the halt, maimed, the poor (see the parables). I will gladly be the 1 percent ORDINARY and trust God to do the EXTRAORDINARY. Will you be the 1 percent remnant today? Drink that water of the word, Soldier, and WATCH AND PRAY.
