Counsel from The Old or Young?

2 Chronicles 10:8 (KJB) But he forsook the counsel which the old men gave him, and took counsel with the young men that were brought up with him, that stood before him.

Solomon’s son, Rehoboam, is about to learn some lessons. 

He insulted the old, and consulted the young. Sound familiar? L@@k around. 

By doing such, King Rehoboam caused the 10 tribes of Israel to revolt against him and saw a great DIVISION. Side note: Jezebel always divides. Solomon allowed odious, outlandish, stinky, sulfur-laden sent-from-hell Jezebels to divide his loyalty, and then this passed down to his son who saw the ultimate division in the kingdom.

"Jezebel" is in the Bible 22 times. 2=Division. Here is the Numerical Syllogism:

22=Jezebel=Division Doubled.

Mark that down. 

The 10’s are an allegory. Not only is this 2 Chronicles 10, but it caused the 10 tribes to revolt. 10 can point, in allegory, to the 10 commandments. 

One of the 10 commandments that promises that things “go well with thee” and "thy days be prolonged" is to honour thy FATHER and thy MOTHER. In precise patriarchal order might I add. Honour for the elderly. 

The Principles of Honour are about near stamped off from the earth today. L@@k around. 

Leviticus 19:32 Thou shalt rise up before the hoary head, and honour the face of the old man, and fear thy God: I am the Lord.

Proverbs 22:28 Remove not the ancient landmark, which thy fathers have set.

Genesis 34:1 And Dinah the daughter of Leah, which she bare unto Jacob, went out to see the daughters of the land.

Huge mistake for Dinah, daughter of Jacob. She went out to SEE THE DAUGHTERS OF THE LAND. She became a SEX OBJECT and much DEATH/CURSE ENSUED.  I have witnessed many a young lady head that route. Actually, MOST. When campus preaching the Glorious Gospel, we sometimes asked a show of hands of how many were virgins. ZILCH. NADA. CRICKETS. Usually, the only virgins were the ones we brought. They follow the world and not the word...

EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. PERIOD. And in every single time period. 

There is something going on with modern youth I have observed. It is trained in the “class system” of Herod’s schools. When you were in the 5th grade, you had no dealings with the 4th graders, and the 6th graders had no dealings with you.  Funny thing is, they were often THE SAME AGE. 

This age segregation has produced folks that seem to only relate to their peers. 

In our focus passage, Rehoboam can only receive the counsel from the folks he grew up with rather than the OLD MEN. 

God is called the “Ancient of Days.” The counsel of the Lord – IT SHALL STAND. “Evil communications corrupt good manners.” “He that walketh with wise men shall be wise.” If you lie down with the dogs, you get up with fleas. 

1 Peter 5:5 Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble.
