Forced, Fake Worship?

10/03 Daily Exhortation (Heb.3:13; 10:25; Matt.6:11;  Luke 11:3, etc.)

1 Chronicles 10:3 (KJB)  And the battle went sore against Saul, and the archers hit him, and he was wounded of the archers.

Romans 10:3 (KJB)  For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God.

The House of Saul versus the House of David (see 2 Samuel 3:1). 

Saul commits suicide after this scenario in our focus passage. But watch this because God is sovereign over such matters…

Hosea 13:11 I gave thee a king in mine anger, and took him away in my wrath…

2 Samuel 7:15 But my mercy shall not depart away from him, as I took it from Saul, whom I put away before thee.

The HOUSE OF SAUL SPIRALS SOUTH. Saul was a Benjamite. Later, Paul was a Benjamite and Pharisee (formerly called SAUL). Saul, in allegory, represents apostate religion which begins decent but ends bad. The House of Saul STARTS DECENT but STARTS A DESCENT.

Every. Single. Time. Period.

And in every single time period. 

A key to their decline is Romans 10:3 above. They go about to ESTABLISH THEIR OWN RIGHTEOUSNESS in the flesh.

1 Samuel 13:12 Therefore said I, The Philistines will come down now upon me to Gilgal, and I have not made supplication unto the LORD: I forced myself therefore, and offered a burnt offering.

Saul FORCED HIMSELF to worship God. The Bible calls this a “fair shew of the flesh” (Galatians 6:12). The Bible calls this “will worship”  and “voluntary humility” and “a shew of wisdom” (Col. 2:23). It is a SHOW. It is PRETENSE/PRETEND. It is hypocrisy (to simulate). It is theatrical. It is just GOING THROUGH THE MOTIONS OF SINS (Rom. 7:5). I am ashamed to say I have surrounded myself with several such over the years. Some are incredible deceivers. Some of the nastiest people you could imagine are in Christian circles. They'll say they love you and always will but they are hiding major lies. Once their lies manifest, they often will DO ANYTHING to destroy the House of David who knows their REAL SIDE. Spooky folks. 

Self-righteousness after the flesh is not House of David zeal. Having to be prodded to worship/sacrifice/do what is right is NOT House of David zeal. David is consumed with zeal. 

Phari$eei$m/Profe$$ional Organized Religion comes up with kuhzillions of things for folks to “do” which is not based upon the scriptural model and is thusly spiraling down to oblivion. It is wood, hay, stubble at best. James teaches that a man who obeys the Bible, his "deeds are blessed." Dead deeds are cursed.

Want the wood “good” or the BLESSED BEST? 

Pharisee means “separated/divided.” Establishing your own righteousness is SEPARATING YOURSELF after the flesh and not the Spirit. 

Jude 1:19 These be they who separate themselves, sensual, having not the Spirit.

This is a PSEUDO-SEPARATION AND A PSEUDO-SANCTIFICATION. The House of Saul champions such. 

Ask God to fill you with His Spirit/word to where worship, testifying, preaching, teaching, studying God’s word, loving God, cherishing the church, etc. does not have to be FORCED but is effectual and FERVENT and an overflow of the genuine heart.  

May God build up the Tabernacle of David in these last days. Don't be a Jonathan who rides the fence and goes on down with Saul.
