Get Light into Your Heart Via the Eye Gate...

01/18 Daily Exhortation (Heb.3:13;10:25;Matt.6:11;Luke 11:3)

This 1/18, let’s get our PLATES CLEAN with this 1:18…

Ephesians 1:18 (KJB) The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints…

Let’s unpack a tad… 1+18=19 which is FAITH in Bible numerics. When you came to faith, your eyes were enlightened. Jesus said if your eye is single, your whole body is full of light. When God’s law is the apple of your eye (Prov.7:2), it enlightens. The Psalmist so aptly put it: “In thy light we shall see light” (Psalms 36:9). The “true riches” (Luke 16:11) come from God’s word. 

1 Samuel 14:27 But Jonathan heard not when his father charged the people with the oath: wherefore he put forth the end of the rod that was in his hand, and dipped it in an honeycomb, and put his hand to his mouth; and his eyes were enlightened.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this passage for many a moon. The rod points to OUR AUTHORITY, THE WORD OF GOD, and the honey points to the WORD OF GOD, which is sweet in the mouth, though often bitter (hard word) in the belly (Rev.10:10; 10 points to tests/trials/tribulations in Bible Numerics). 

The NKJV mars this passage beyond recognition by changing “his eyes were enlightened” to “his countenance brightened.” NAY, I SAY UNTO THEE, NAY. His EYES were enlightened. 

A person who studies a King James Bible will have a certain LIGHT IN THEIR EYES. 

Psalm 19:8,10 The statutes of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes. 10 More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.

Psalm 119:18 Open thou mine eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of thy law.

Luke 24:45 Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures…

Psalm 18:28 For thou wilt light my candle: the Lord my God will enlighten my darkness.

2 Corinthians 4:6 For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

More light brings more affliction, but it is a LIGHT AFFLICTION (Praise God!)

Hebrews 10:32 But call to remembrance the former days, in which, after ye were illuminated, ye endured a great fight of afflictions…

2 Corinthians 4:17 For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory…

The worst affliction/persecution always comes from those who have had their eyes enlightened (see Heb.6, etc.) or once had their eyes enlightened and they grew dim, etc. 

2 Corinthians 4:4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

1 Corinthians 2:14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
