I LOVE Dad’s exhortation today, y’all! It’s very Good and helpful for your Christian walk! This is one of the reasons why I like Watchman Nee because he emphasizes this topic of living the gospel. :)

GOSPEL LIVING DAILY AND *NOT* WEAKLY. 

01/16 Daily Exhortation (Matt.6:11;Luke 11:3;Heb.3:13;10:25)…

This 1/16, let’s AFFIX ‘TWEEN our ears the following 1:16…

Romans 1:16 (KJB) For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

Paul stated to the CHRISTIANS in this chapter that he wanted to preach the GOSPEL to them which are at Rome. Most think of the Gospel as Kindergarten and then they move on. Not so. The Gospel is not just how you GET IN, but how you live, breathe, and have your being. The Gospel is for CHRISTIANS as much as non-Christians. 

Gospel means “God’s Spell” or “God’s Story.” It is the GLAD TIDINGS and GOOD NEWS that Christ (God) died for our sins, was buried, and rose again the third day ALL ACCORDING TO THE SCRIPTURES (see 1 Cor. 15). 

Some profess to be “not ashamed” of the entry-level Gospel, but it becomes quickly evident THEY ARE ASHAMED OF A DAILY-LIVING GOSPEL. Read that again. Selah. Muse and peruse and choose to use or refuse…

There are MANY WAYS TO BE WRONG, but ONE WAY TO BE RIGHT. Jesus said He was the ONLY WAY (John 14:6; Acts 4:12). It pleased God to save through the “foolishness” of preaching the cross/Gospel (1 Cor. 1:18-21). Only the Gospel saves in this dispensation/age. And, the ONLY WAY to live victorious over sin is via THE GOSPEL. Part of that good news is we can live godly in this present world (see Titus 2)...

Luke 9:23 And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.

NOT WEEKLY, NOT WEAKLY, BUT DAILY. 

Personally, we pray the Gospel by faith first waking moments and throughout the day. This is not to “get saved” over and over again, nor is it trusting in works (we are kept by the power of God THROUGH FAITH (1 Pet.1:5)). This is trusting that the flesh is put down, the world is overcome, the Devil is put to flight as we are daily (by faith) DEAD TO OUR TRESPASSES/SINS and crucified WITH HIM (Galatians 2:20), buried with him (Romans 6), and raised up again with Him (Ephesians 1, etc.).  This is the GOSPEL WAY OF ESCAPE for all known sin (1 Cor. 10:13) as well as unknown (Lev.4:2; 1st John 1:7). If having a “flesh” means you HAVE TO SIN, then there would BE NO JUDGMENT(s). Jesus did not die to make holiness UNNECESSARY, but rather POSSIBLE. Reflect...

Are you ASHAMED OF A DAILY GOSPEL WALK WITH JESUS? Watch these 2:6 constructions: 

Colossians 2:6 As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him…

1 John 2:6 He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.

Ephesians 2:6 And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus...

The WAY YOU RECEIVED HIM was via faith via the GLORIOUS GOSPEL (Gal. 3:14, etc.). 

The only way to WALK AS HE WALKED is to follow Jesus in spiritual (by faith, by grace, by His Spirit) co-crucifixion, co-burial, and co-resurrection. This is taking up your cross daily as you are in Christ's body/church and seated with Him in heavenly places (Eph.1:3;2:6). 

We are initially “begotten again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead” (1 Peter 1:3) and then we “die daily” (1 Cor. 15, etc.) and walk in resurrection power daily (Philip. 3:9-10)...

1 Peter 2:21 For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps... 

Acts 1:8 is Jesus' post-resurrection commission to us to be His witnesses in Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria, and uttermost parts of the earth. 

Study John and you'll see Jesus walked THIS EXACT WAY: Jerusalem, and Judea, and Samaria, and then Galilee (which Isaiah calls Galilee of the NATIONS). Ahhhh. The Bible. WOVEN TAPESTRY OF TRUTH. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE IT. And THIS JESUS WALK. 

If you are living in sin (secret sins, sins of thought life, outward sins, etc.), YOU ARE ASHAMED OF THE GOSPEL no matter what you profess. Your talk doesn’t match your walk and your words don’t align with your works. 

How about PRAYING THE GOSPEL FIRST THING AND ALL DAY and not being ashamed of the Gospel 24/7? Jesus will supply the power to do WHAT HE COMMANDS US TO DO, NAY?
