Thou Shalt Not Steal
Dear Dad’s Timely Truths Teaching Today. ENJOY A BLESSING!
💥🔥‼️🔝🏔️⚔️🛡️🏹🎯✅📖🍯💖⚠️🕊️☝️⌛🙌
Stop Stealing. PERIOD.
05/19 Daily Exhortation (Matt. 6:11; Luke 11:3; Heb. 3:13; 10:25)…
A 5:19 for 5/19…
Deuteronomy 5:19 Neither shalt thou steal.
FOUR SIMPLE WORDS. And if one stole they had to restore two-fold, or four-fold and often seven-fold.
Exodus 22:7 If a man shall deliver unto his neighbour money or stuff to keep, and it be stolen out of the man's house; if the thief be found, let him pay double.
God puts various weights on sins. Under the Old Testament Mosaic law under a Theocracy (God in direct control of the Government which is NOT what the New Testament Church is to be doing), Fornication was the death penalty, as was adultery, etc. Fornicators and adulterers will often feel self-righteous when they don’t steal, yet their sin is GREATER.
Watch the parallel:
Proverbs 6:29-33
So he that goeth in to his neighbour's wife; whosoever toucheth her shall not be innocent.
Proverbs 6:30
[Men] do not despise a thief, if he steal to satisfy his soul when he is hungry;
Proverbs 6:31
But [if] he be found, he shall restore sevenfold; he shall give all the substance of his house.
Proverbs 6:32
[But] whoso committeth adultery with a woman lacketh understanding: he [that] doeth it destroyeth his own soul.
Proverbs 6:33
A wound and dishonour shall he get; and his reproach shall not be wiped away.
Stealing, though quite wicked, was only the death penalty in certain circumstances. Achan stole of the accursed thing in Joshua 7 and was killed. Menstealing (kidnapping) was the death penalty.
Adulterous remarriage is STEALING another’s spouse and children. This is quite serious and damnable if not repented of. This was the death penalty under Mosaic law for a reason. ALL STEALING IS WICKED SIN. SOME FORMS OF STEALING ARE MUCH MORE SERIOUS. If you robbed a bank, walked off with a million dollars, repented later, couldn't you enjoy the million? NO. You would need to give it back. Same with Adulterous remarriage. To repent is to get out of the pseudo-marriage which is really just boyfriend/girlfriend and perpetual, serial adultery.
Matthew 19:9 And I say unto you, Whosoever shall put away his wife, except it be for fornication, and shall marry another, committeth adultery: and whoso marrieth her which is put away doth commit adultery.
Psalms 50:18 When thou sawest a thief, then thou consentedst with him, and hast been partaker with adulterers.
Proverbs 29:24 Whoso is partner with a thief hateth his own soul: he heareth cursing, and bewrayeth [it] not.
Stealing comes in many, many forms. It starts with COVETING (breaking the 10th commandment), as does adultery, etc.
Proverbs 9:16-18 16 Whoso is simple, let him turn in hither: and as for him that wanteth understanding, she saith to him, 17 STOLEN waters are sweet, and bread eaten in secret is pleasant. 18 But he knoweth not that the dead are there; and that her guests are in the depths of hell.
“Purloining” is stealing a little by little from your employer (Titus 2:10) which is forbidden. Stealing time from your employer is sinful.
Lying about an accident to avoid the ramifications of insurance or to avoid trouble with a boss, etc. is STEALING. On and on.
Leviticus 19:11 Ye shall not steal, neither deal falsely, neither lie one to another.
To try and steal the hearts of another’s son/daughter/etc. is a grievous sin in scripture. Absalom (type of Antichrist) betrayed his father by such actions as well. Absalom left David to go be with his grandfather.
2 Samuel 15:6 And on this manner did Absalom to all Israel that came to the king for judgment: so Absalom stole the hearts of the men of Israel.
Jesus taught that false teachers/prophets are THIEVES:
John 10:10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
Robbing God of due glory is grievous. Stealing God’s words is serious.
Jeremiah 23:30 Therefore, behold, I am against the prophets, saith the LORD, that steal my words every one from his neighbour.
Ephesians 4:28 Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labour, working with his hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needeth.
Stop coveting, stop stealing, and be content with God Himself (Hebrews 13) this day, -r <3
