Did You Forget the Signs?!

09/17 DAILY EXHORTATION (Heb.3:13; 10:25; Matt.6:11; Luke 11:3)

On this glorious 9/17, here is a 9:17 to think upon…

Nehemiah 9:17 (KJB)  And refused to obey, neither were mindful of thy wonders that thou didst among them; but hardened their necks, and in their rebellion appointed a captain to return to their bondage: but thou art a God ready to pardon, gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and forsookest them not.

For this focus passage, let us focus on the fact that the SIGN that they had hardened their necks and rebelled and refused to obey was when they were no longer MINDFUL of God’s signs/wonders that He did among them. 

EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. PERIOD. And in every single time period. 

This is a very sore evil under the sun. God takes the time to orchestrate glorious signs/wonders for His people and their minds are no longer FULL of those wonders. One expects this from the world, but not from the believers. 

1 Samuel 6:6 Wherefore then do ye harden your hearts, as the Egyptians and Pharaoh hardened their hearts? when he had wrought wonderfully among them, did they not let the people go, and they departed?

We should not be as the Egyptians (Egypt is emblematic of the world/unbelievers and Pharaoh is a figure of Satan). 

An oft quoted verse in our tiny church is: 

Mark 6:52 For they considered not the miracle of the loaves: for their heart was hardened.

There are some interesting numbers there. First, 6 for flesh/man. 52 for 13x4 or Rebellion compounded with the world. You see, when God does mathematical miracles (etc.) we must never forget. Personally, I write God's signs down and oft email them to myself. If I ever want a personal revival, I just search for all the many thousands of signs/wonders God has done and also recorded in my Bible margin. My family also records their own.  Regardless, seeking God daily and giving place to Him daily, they are new every morning like fresh Manna and fresh Oil.

 

Luke 18:8 I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?

THIS HURTS MY HEART, CHURCH. A very sad rhetorical question indeed and in deed!!! An earmark of Jesus’ coming is LACK OF FAITH. It requires faith to please God and be rewarded (Heb. 11:6). We MUST be an exception with EXCEPTIONAL FAITH in this doubt-laden sinful generation. BRETHREN, WE *MUST.* If not, you will rebel. You will fail. You will be just another statistic. Eat, sleep, and drink the word of God today meditating upon and considering our Creator. CONSUMED WITH CHRIST. LOVE, LOVE, *LOVE* THIS JESUS WALK today. 

ARISE, BRIDE OF CHRIST. Humbly entreat the king with His stretched forth scepter, soften your hearts/necks and have a MIND FULL of His wonders this day!!! After all, the Psalmist states that God’s thoughts toward US are MORE in number than the sand!!! Ask God to FORGIVE your FORGETFULNESS and FOCUS on the FINISHER of our FAITH going FORWARD. Will you? Will you FOR HIM? 

God’s Signs are not in vain with me and my house but FILLING MY MIND in Jesus’ Name, -r <3
